The artist's book is a diversity and unique category of contemporary art creation. The creator created “The Artist’s book” as a transit station for life to reveal the politics, society, history, environment and personal emotions and thoughts in which the creator is presented. They reconstruct chaotic life experiences through experiments and thinking in technology, media, aesthetics, philosophy, concepts, forms and concretize, morphological, and conceptualize their creative intentions with the method of narrative, image, photography, and cross-media. Different from the past, the artist's book practice has no fixed form, nor is it just an arrangement of words and images. It is a kind of chronicle, in which the creators appear and participate after along period of observation and reflection, they re-pick up themselves and construct cognition, and unfolds dialogue between boundaries through creative interpretation, regression and reproduction.

The making process of a book is often silent, it is the creator's soul speaks when driving the non-linear jump of time and the flow of space when creator's memory collides with reality. Through perception, or touch, or gaze, or surmise, readers can feel touched by the work of artist’s book, it is the encounter and conversation between one soul and the other soul. After all, Artist’s book is a narrative archived and borderless enlightenment.

「靈魂在說話：藝術家的書」展覽由國立陽明交通大學應用藝術研究所策劃，邀請了應藝所師生、校友與國內外藝術家參展。

「藝術家的書」是持續變異演化且極具獨特性的當代藝術範疇，創作者以其作為生命的中轉站，揭露其所在的政治、社會、歷史、環境和個人的情感思想，透過技法、媒材、美學、哲學、概念和形式上的實驗與思考，重構混沌的生命經驗，將創作意圖以敘事、圖像、攝影等媒材、手法進行物質化、形體化、概念化，給出其主體意義。藝術家的書之實踐不再有固定的樣態，也不僅是文字與圖像的排列，它更接近一種紀事，是創作者現身參與，經過長時間的觀察與反身沈澱，重新拾取自身、建構認知，經由創造性

的詮釋、叛離與再生產，展開界域之間的對話。書的創作過程常是無聲的，創作者的思想情感與現實衝撞，驅動時間的跳耀與空間的流轉，是創作者的靈魂在說話。讀者透過感知，或是觸摸，或是翻閱觀賞，或是揣摩，感受與作品遭逢時所引發的觸動——

是一方靈魂與另一方靈魂的相遇與對話，是一種流變與無疆界的紀事啓示。
